Introduction by Alice Martin, Rutgers University
The Hub’s list of Foundational Projects includes digital projects that inspired our mission and approach to promoting access to digital recovery. These are foundational recovery projects, meaning that they are leaders in promoting open-access to recovered texts, particularly texts by women and BIPOC creators. Some of these foundational digital recovery projects expand their mission into other pioneering areas, such as introducing digital recovery into the classroom or seeking to establish cross-institutional, interdisciplinary collaborations. For all these reasons, these are excellent projects to be familiar with and to use as resources if you are interested in any part of the Hub’s mission.
